Library Director

Greetings Library Patrons and Community Members,

My name is Kris Collins and I am the new Director of the Tama Public Library. I am very excited to join the library staff here and get started in the work of serving the Tama Area community in a new capacity.

I am a recent retiree as Assistant Elementary Principal at South Tama CSD. I have always loved reading, teaching literacy and helping children learn. I enjoy reading, gardening, the arts, sports and traveling. I grew up in central Iowa and have raised my family here in the Tama County area. It will be a bucket list job for me to serve as the director of the library.

I am so impressed with the beautiful facility the Louise and Lucile Hink Tama Public Library is, and all the wonderful collections, and resources it offers the patrons here. I hope to enhance this and continue to enable the library to be a place in the community for people to enjoy for years to come.

I am an advocate of being a lifelong learner and look forward to getting to know the local resources, systems and collections to grow your public library. Please stop by and check out all that we have to offer.
